The ClearView Buckler to Bergs Ocean Swim

The ClearView Buckler to Bergs Ocean Swim (hosted by North Bondi SLSC) is a great opportunity to blow off the cobwebs before the Xmas rush.
As part of the event, there are two swims to take on: a 1km and a 2km. With the way the event is structured, it is possible to do both swims if you’re especially motivated. You can also register for the ClearView’s sister swim, The Oceana North Bondi Classic, which will be held on the 12th of February 2023.
The event is proudly sponsored by ClearView. Event prizes provided by Running Bare for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each category. There will also be $250 cash prize for swimmer with the average time in both 1km and 2km event (prizes will be drawn at the presentation and you must be in attendance).

Swim Courses
Both the 1km and 2km courses are fairly straightforward,
North Bondi Beach itself is a moderately hazardous beach. It’s partially protected by the Ben Buckler headland, and reduces wave height to 1m at the northern end. The further south you go down the beach, the possibility of bigger surf and tricky rips increases. The exact path the North Bondi Roughwater follows has the potential to change, depending on conditions on the day.
2km ocean swim
The 2km course (starting from 10.15am) starts in front of North Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club with buoys taking swimmers to the point off “Ben Bucker” across the bay to Icebergs (“Bergs”) and back along the beach to finish in front of the clubhouse.
1km Ocean Swim
The 1km course (starting from 9.00am) is a smaller, replica of the main 2km swim that sits squarely inside the bay, not quite reaching the far flung corners like the 2km. Use this as your main goal, or go long by using it as a warm up to the 2km.
