Following on from the success of the pilot program in 2021-2022 season the North Bondi Female Mentoring Program returned for a full season, commencing 15th November 2022 and concluding on 20th April 2023. A huge thank you to our wonderful and extremely accomplished cohort of women for their participation, enthusiasm, and support for each other.
The Program saw 6 mentees work with their mentors to help develop goals in their lifesaving careers. With our mentees being newer members, the mid-season zoom session explored their experiences joining the North Bondi community which covered the positive experiences in making members feel welcomed on patrol, training and other areas of our club.
We were honoured to have some fantastic mentors with experience covering roles such as Head of Surf Sports, Head of Administration, a former Director of Sydney Branch Surf Sports, a Sydney Branch Assessor and 2 female life members of North Bondi and Bronte SLSC. Very impressive ladies!!!
The program was developed to support, engage, and develop female members in an effort to promote pathways of personal and professional development and networking opportunities – and we hope we have achieved the objectives. If nothing else, we have created a fabulous network with a lovely group of club members and had a bit of fun in the process.
