Australian Honours – North Bondi Members Recognised

Congratulations to three North Bondi members who were recognised in the Australia Day Honours list for their contribution to Surf Life Saving: Mark Cotter OAM, Stewart Bailey ESM, and Richard Lissenden ESM.

North Bondi congratulates them on this prestigious recognition and thanks them for their ongoing contribution.
 
Mark Cotter OAM
Mark was the President of North Bondi SLSC and a member of the Sydney Branch Council from 2014 to 2019. He was an active Board Member of North Bondi SLSC since 1988, holding positions such as Club Captain, Head of Sponsorship and Vice President. He has raised significant funds for the club during his service and in recent years has assisted with numerous projects such as the advanced response lifesaving facility building works. He has received numerous awards for his service accumulating in this Australian Honour.

Stewart Bailey ESM
Stewart has four decades of service to volunteering in Surf Life Saving. He has been a JRB and IRB Driver and has dedicated over 35 years to patrolling on the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter. Stewart has been a substantial contributor to public safety fundraising and advocate for rock fishing safety on Sydney’s coastline.

Richard Lissenden ESM
Richard has been an active member and leader within the Sydney Offshore Rescue Boat (SR30). He has been an active patrol member since the mid-1980’s. Richard has been an administrator, trainer, mentor and the SR30 Chairperson for the past 27 Years. He has been an integral part of the support operations 24 hour call out crew during his many years of service and worked to develop safety management systems that have been recognised by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
